POWERLESS: The Toponomy of Exclusion and Overlooking

The theme of the conference is the observation of the city as a living organism, which includes excluded, forgotten, and overlooked spaces, so-called vague terrain, and sites of the new wilderness, as well as excluded inhabitants and social groups. We follow homelessness in terms of the space it touches and the people who inhabit it. The all-day meeting includes theoretical and historical lectures from various disciplines, panel discussions about the present, interviews with people who have experience of homeless life, presentations of artists and examples of projects related to homelessness.

12:50 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Loss of one’s home
2:45 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. Life without a home
4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Aesthetics of life in non-places
6:15 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. Panel discussion on solutions to homelessness
The POWERLESS Conference is a meeting place for outstanding professionals who follow homelessness in terms of their disciplines: urbanism, architecture, sociology, fine arts, politics, anthropology and contemporary archeology, ecology, geobotany, etc.
